Hi, I’m Breanne, the founder of Second Nature. A proud Canadian having lived abroad and in Toronto for many years, I now live in Hamilton, Ontario where you’ll often find me chasing after my kids, hunting for thrifted gems, or tending to my garden.

I’ve always had a love for secondhand. Before becoming a mom, I spent years traveling and collecting unique pieces to fill our home. When my children came along, that same passion naturally shifted to children’s clothing. What really sparked the idea for Second Nature was seeing how often parents I knew struggled to find clothing for their kids that they actually loved. For me, thrifting was, well, Second Nature. Over time I realized not every family had the time, patience, or access to great thrift shops and resorted to box store brands or buying new online out of necessity, only to be disappointed by what arrived. Resale pages are a great source of sustainable clothing, but oftentimes finding the right piece feels harder than winning the lottery. It became clear to me that families wanted to make a more sustainable choice, but they needed an easier, more reliable way to do it.

That’s where Second Nature began. At the heart of it is my belief that style, sustainability, and convenience can be accessible for everyone. Every box we send helps keep clothing out of landfills while giving each piece a meaningful second life. More importantly, it helps parents feel confident that their children are comfortable, well dressed, and ready for the season ahead.

I always talk about my “thrill of the find” thrifting moments (IYKYK), that rush of joy when you find something truly special. That feeling is what we bring into every box we curate, knowing another family will get to experience it too!Second Nature was created to make that feeling accessible to every family.
